TCA Welcomes Marsh, Inc., as sponsor of Best Fleet for Company Drivers Award

Award is one of two overall winners of Best Fleets to Drive For contest and survey

Alexandria, VA - January 24, 2011 - The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) and CarriersEdge are pleased to announce a new sponsor for the Best Fleets to Drive For contest and survey. Marsh,Inc., the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor, has agreed to sponsor the Best Fleet for Company Drivers award, an honor bestowed upon the highest scoring fleet in the company driver's category.

Now in its third year, Best Fleets to Drive For is an annual evaluation of the best employers in the trucking industry. CarriersEdge, the leading provider of online driver quality improvement solutions, conducts the survey for TCA.

The program is open to all for-hire trucking companies with 10 trucks or more. To be considered, fleets must be nominated by a company driver or owner-operator currently working with them. Those nominations are followed by interviews with company management and an additional random sampling of the company's drivers and independent contractors. Fleets are evaluated against a broad range of criteria reflecting current HR best practices, and the top 20 finishers are named that year's Best Fleets to Drive For.

The 2011 Best Fleets to Drive For will be announced at the beginning of February.

The winners are then sorted into two categories: Those that employ company drivers, and those who utilize the services of owner-operators. The highest scoring fleets in each of these areas will be singled out for recognition as the Best Overall winner in that category.

An important part of Best Fleets to Drive For is the survey data that it reveals. Carrier success stories in areas such as benefits, professional development, driver and community support, safety record, and company culture will be compiled and widely publicized in the hopes of inspiring other fleets and raising the bar for the entire trucking industry.

Scott Cober, national transportation practice leader for Marsh Canada Limited, said, "Marsh strongly believes in sharing best practices across the industry and promoting the positive programs that fleets are running. We are proud to support Best Fleets to Drive For and to recognize organizations that maintain strong workplace environments and superior risk management practices."

John Kaburick, President of Earl L. Henderson Trucking Company, Salem, Illinois, and 2010-2011 TCA chairman, said, "We are fortunate to have a sponsor who shares our commitment to Best Fleets. The winners and overall winners have valuable stories to share with other carriers who may wish to adopt or follow their best practices, and we are pleased to provide the means to do it."
